How teachers in the North East manage children's transition from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1Date: 14 May 2008 Time: 12.30 - 2.00 p.m. How teachers in the North East manage children's transition from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1 This seminar will be given by Dr Leanne Thompson, Department of Educational Research, Lancaster University. Wednesday 14th May 2008, 12.30 - 2.00 p.m., Meeting Room 1, Institute for Advanced Studies, Lancaster University. Everyone welcome. This presentation will report on a six-month research project investigating the management of children's transition from the Foundation Stage (FS) to Key Stage One (KS1) of the National Curriculum, by those teaching the FS and KS1 in the North East of England. The research provides a snapshot of the perspectives, opinions and practices of Reception, Year 1 and Mixed Reception/Year 1 teachers in the North East of England in 2006. The opinions and practises of each teacher group will be reported and the implications of the findings will be discussed. Contact: Who can attend: Anyone
