History Society Guest LectureDate: 12 February 2009 Time: 7.00 pm The History Society is holding a guest lecture. Professor Andrew Jotischky will give a talk entitled "Eats Shoots and Leaves? Notes from a Hermit's Cookbook". Professor Jotischky currently teaches on a range of courses in the history department, including HIST111, HIST219 and HIST313. The chances are any Lancaster history student with an interest in the medieval period has been on one or more of his courses! He has a number of publications on the Crusades, and is currently researching identities and monasticism in Europe and the Crusader states. This lecture should cover a specific area of medieval life in the study of hermits. This should be of particular interest to anyone involved in studying or researching the medieval period, and medieval life and identities. The lecture will take place in Furness LT 2 starting at 7pm. The lecture will cost £1 for non-society members, and is free for members of the History Society and the History Department faculty. We will then be going for a meal in the Merchants.
