Speaker: Richard Holmes

Richard Holmes is the leading biographer of the Romantic period, author of Shelley: The Pursuit (which won the Somerset Maugham Award) and Coleridge: Early Visions (which won the Whitbread Prize). His 'stellar collective biography' The Age of Wonder: How the Romantic Generation Discovered the Beauty and Terror of Science was published last year to wide acclaim, described as 'elegant … fascinating … entrancing' (Sunday Telegraph) and 'a revelation … thrilling' (Independent).
