'The new all singing, all dancing Ombudsman: a true alternative to the courts?'Date: 13 May 2009 Time: 12 noon 'The new all singing, all dancing Ombudsman: a true alternative to the courts?' Dr Richard Kirkham, University of Sheffield, School of Law.
Richard is an expert on the institution of the Ombudsman. He has been a witness for the Committee on Standards in Public Life and has presented on the topic in Australia, the Caribbean, Ireland and the UK. Along with two colleagues he was awarded an ESRC grant to examine "Public Services ombudsmen and administrative justice: models, roles, methods and relationships".
His forthcoming book on Public Service Ombudsmen is due for publication later in the year.
