Using Mobile Phones for Field Research - LRDG SeminarDate: 21 April 2009 Time: 1.00 - 2.00 pm Paul Coulton, Dept of Communication Systems, Lancaster University A DIGITAL METHODOLOGIES seminar With over 4 billion mobile phones subscribers in the world they are undoubtedly the most important piece of consumer technology and are supporting an ever increasing range of activities. Further, as the current generation of mobile phones are capable of recording users' interaction through, text, image, video, and voice and when coupled with internal or external sensors they are capable of providing researchers with new methods of capturing, extracting, and synchronizing aspects of human activity.
