Heidegger's 'Movement of Nihilism' as Political and Metaphysical CritiqueDate: 1 July 2009 Time: 12.30pm - 4.30pm Venue: IAS Meeting Room 6 (C floor) The research group "Heidegger's 'Movement of Nihilism' as Political and Metaphysical Critique" meets for the last time next Wednesday, 1st July, in the Institute of Advanced Studies beginning at 12:30pm with lunch. We will meet in two sessions, 1.00-2.30pm and 3.00-4.30pm (approximately) to discuss the research proposal as a whole and to talk about the production of the volume arising from the project. Both sessions will be chaired by Professor Mick Dillon.
In the first session we will begin by asking each participant will be asked to outline their contribution to the volume in not more than five minutes (I have asked Mick to be strict on this). I am attaching all the abstracts so that it is possible to see what each of us is proposing. Please use your five minutes not simply to repeat the abstract, but rather to draw out how you see your proposal relating to the project as a whole, and what points and connections you think will be useful for the group to draw on as we finalise our contributions.
The second session will be rather freer, where we would hope to discuss and develop the main issues that have arisen as a result of the four previous meetings. Contact: Who can attend: Anyone
