Nuffield Theatre's Making Time project launchDate: 21 October 2009 Time: 12.00 pm Venue: the almost overlooked natural garden to the left as you approach the Nuffield box office/Peter Scott Gallery MAKING TIME COMMENCES - Last year The Nuffield put out a call for artists across the UK to respond to the idea of a year-long performance. 55 artists rose to the challenge, presenting an ingenious and brave set of proposals to test the limits of performance and duration. The final selected artists, Jonathan Raisin and Elizabeth Willow, proposed the simple and beautiful idea of slowly creating a garden right outside of the Nuffield, as a place in which to respond to change, to follow the seasons, to mark and be marked by the passing of time. They are launching their year-long process by entering the site (the almost overlooked natural garden to the left as you approach the Nuffield box office/Peter Scott Gallery) for the first time at noon on Wednesday 21 October. They invite you to join them for this, and there will be many further opportunities during the year to engage with the project. To find out more, email the artists on makingtime@nuffieldtheatre.com... If you're attending the Making Time launch (which you should be!) then hang around and make your way to The Peter Scott Gallery for the Environment 2.0 Exhibition: artists talk event which is happening immediately after... The current exhibition at the Peter Scott Gallery is proving popular and thought-provoking. We're adding to the exhibition programme with an artists' talk from two of the international artists whose work features in the show: Heather Ackroyd of duo Ackroyd and Harvey and Helen Evans of Paris-based HeHe. The talk, a collaboration with FutureEverything Festival, will take place in the Gallery from 2.30pm-5pm on Wednesday 21 October. Entry is free, though capacity is limited...
