Sociology PhD Workshop - with Frank TrentmannDate: 10 November 2009 Time: 13.30 - 15.00 Venue: Bowland North, B135 Frank Trentmann (History, Birkbeck College), who will be giving a Sociology department seminar, is arriving early to take part in a PhD Workshop - his writing is about history, methodology and sociology - e.g. how does history use sociology and how do sociologists use history. He has also been director of the ESRC cultures of consumption programme. He will be free for a session with PhD students from 1.30 to 3.00pm in B135. The format is open and flexible, you can talk a bit about your work, we can discuss in greater depth the articles on which the seminar focuses, or you can take the chance to talk with him about his experience as a programme director.
