Retheorising Women's Health: Shifting Paradigms and the Biomedical Body An ESRC sponsored seminar series Seminar 3: Worn Bodies Organiser: Lucy Suchman, Centre for Science Studies and Sociology, Lancaster University Lancaster University, UK The overall aim of this ESRC Seminar Series is to expand awareness of what women's health is about in the 21st century, in the context of current intersectional conceptions of race, class, sex/gender and biology, and the emergence of new technologies and new theorisations and understandings of the body. The aim of this seminar on Worn Bodies is to open up discussion around ambiguous and shifting relations between the aging body, the injured body, the body that learns through experience, the augmented body, and questions of bodily integrity and body boundaries. Participants will explore these topics through a diverse range of theoretical and methodological approaches. Speakers include:

There is no registration fee for this event, however, we would welcome (optional) contributions of £10 to defray the cost of catering.
