Working in Journalism - Neville ThurlbeckDate: 26 February 2010 Time: 11.00 am Venue: Faraday Lecture Theatre
On Friday 26 February (week 7) at 11 am in Faraday Lecture Theatre, Neville Thurlbeck (who studied English and Theatre Studies at Lancaster University), the Chief Reporter of the News of the World will be talking on the subject of 'Working in Journalism'. Neville has given the following outline of his session: 'Many of our new recruits in the tabloid industry are graduates. But many are confused by the lack of a road-map on how to get here. I try to help. The talk will include: 1 Getting into local and regional press. 2 The career challenges and opportunities in local and regional press. 3 Breaking into Fleet St. 4 Differing career challenges on Sun/Mail/Mirror/News of the World/ etc. Including anecdotes/dispelling tabloid myths etc.' All are welcome to attend.
