Prosecuting Genocide: Thirty Years On: the Cambodian ExperienceDate: 9 March 2010 Time: 4.00 pm Venue: Bowland North, SR 6 Alex Bates: After almost ten years based in Leeds as an integral part of the St Paul's Chambers criminal law team, Alex is currently undertaking his second United Nations posting in five years. Based in Phnom Penh since August 2006, he is an international prosecutor at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, having previously workedfrom Spring2003 to Summer 2004 in a similar role in the District Courts in Kosovo. Alex has a Master of Laws (Distinction) in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from Lancaster University and has been published in a recent collection of works on the criminal law of genocide.
