2010 Annual Richardson Institute Peace LectureDate: 21 October 2010 Time: 6.00-7.30 pm Venue: Frankland LT, Faraday Award-winning Australian academic and international human rights campaigner - Professor Linda Briskman - will deliver this year's 2010 Richardson Institute Annual Peace Lecture at Lancaster University. Professor Briskman has had a distinguished career researching asylum seekers, refugees and aboriginal rights and is currently the Dr Haruhisa Handa Chair of Human Rights Education at Curtin University in Perth, Australia. In 2008, she won the prestigious Australian Human Rights Commission award for literature for a book she co-authored entitled "Human rights overboard: Seeking asylum in Australia". Key sections of the exhibition "Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace" will also be displayed in the foyer immediately before and during the lecture. *Exhibition supported by Soka Gakkai International (SGI) UK and the Richardson Institute.
