PPR Research SeminarDate: 2 February 2011 Time: 4.00-6.00 pm Venue: Bowland North SR10 Finn Spicer (Bristol): Intuition in Philosophy and Philosophical Naturalism Recently the role of intuitions in philosophical methodology has been brought into the spotlight and challenged. Advocates of naturalism in philosophy have been at the forefront of calling for the abolition of appeals to intuition from the philosophical toolbox. In this paper i examine the central commitments of naturalism in philosophy, and ask whether they really warrant this hostility towards intuition-based methodology. Contact: Who can attend: Anyone
