2nd Postgraduate STS ConferenceDate: 11th - 13th January 2012 Time: All Day Event Venue: Various
STS research in Lancaster is carried out in many different departments and disciplines. The aim of this conference is to provide a space for PhD students from these multi-disciplinary fields to present their research, receive feedback and learn about the variety of STS research that is carreid out on their doorstep. Call for papers is now closed, and this year's programme comprises: 11th January 2012: Guest Lecture by Annemarie Mol (University of Amsterdam): Where is my body? Questions of travel and boundaries *please note this lecture is limited to registered conference delegates only* 12th January 2012: Alumni Lecture by Raoni Rajão (PhD in Organisation, Work and Technology 2011): The forest multiple: the ontological strategies of illegal deforestation in Amazonia 13th January 2012: Alumni Lecture by Michal Nahman (PhD in Sociology 2005): Extractions: Securing Borders, Trafficking Ova. 12th-13th January 2012: 19 PhD presentations on diverse topics including sustainability, energy, health, work, technology and materiality.
