The Moral Significance of Severe Intellectual Disabilities Simo Vehmas is Professor at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. His research interests are centred on philosophical issues in disability studies and special education. With Kristjana Kristiansen and Tom Shakespeare he co-edited the influential Arguing About Disability: Philosophical Perspectives. Simo is also the President of the Nordic Network on Disability Research (NNDR) and an organiser of the 2013 NNDR Conference to be held in Turku, Finland.
