Gillian Slovo reads from her workDate: 22 November 2012 Time: 5.30 pm Venue: LICA Event Studio A27 Gillian Slovo is a South African-born novelist, playwright and memoirist and is currently the President of English PEN. She is the author of twelve novels. Red Dust (2000)was made into a film starring Hilary Swank and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Ice Road (2004) was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction. This event is part of the Centre for Transcultural Writing and Research's Writing for Libertyseries and has been made possible by the generous support of the Lancaster University Friends Fund.
