3rd Annual STS Postgraduate Conference

All students interested in Science and Technology Studies (STS) and feminist technoscience scholarship are invited to attend the 3rd Postgraduate STS Conference - 9th - 11th January 2013. This is a lively and supportive conference for postgraduate work-in-progress. We are pleased to announce our keynote speaker will be Noortje Marres, Senior Lecturer at Goldsmiths, in the Sociology department. On Wednesday 9th (in the afternoon) she will open the conference with a presentation on methods - describing some recent projects and devices she has worked with, and discussing the kind of challenges they turned methods into - including plasticmethods, real-time methods, etc. Student presentations will be held on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th January.Come and learn more about the kinds of STS work happening within Lancaster University, and become part of a community of STS researchers. Learn from the feedback given to presenters by our faculty rapporteurs. We will also be hearing from two Lancaster alumni about post-PhD transitions. One speaker will beYvonne Latham, who completed her PhD in the department of Organisation, Work and Technology and now works as a lecturer at Lancaster. She will tell us the story of her PhD journey: 'making connections: organisation, technologies and disabled people'.
