Research Interests

'I am a composer of instrumental and computer music. After completing my composition studies in Tokyo (a long time ago!), I started working in the Netherlands on computer music, especially real-time sound synthesis techniques and interactive computer music. Since 1991 I have realized various pieces for instruments and live computer systems using Max/ISPW and later Max/MSP. I am also involved in creating interactive multimedia art using a new, specially developed software called 'DIPS' (Digital Image Processing with Sound), of which I have been the project supervisor since 2000. After teaching computer music at Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo for 15 years, I arrived here in Lancaster in the new year of 2006 and started working with students and computers on a whole new adventure.'
