Paul Farley on BBC Radio 4Date: 29 April 2012 Paul has written and presented a feature for BBC Radio 4, which was broadcast last Sunday 29 April. A Foreigner Everywhere, told the story of the poet Elizabeth Bishop's time living in and writing about Brazil, her adopted country for fifteen eventful years, and featured contributions from poets such as Anne Stevenson and Jo Shapcott, as well as scholars and friends of Bishop. Paul also spoke at two events last week: at a World Book Night event in Liverpool on 23 April, and as guest speaker at the Anne Pierson Awards evening at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal on 25 April; this annual award, established in 2004, is dedicated to encouraging young people's interest and abilities in creative writing and to celebrating their achievements.
