Teaching research grant awarded to Felipe Otondo from LICA

Date: 12 August 2012

A research teaching grant has been awarded to Felipe Otondo to develop a project that will explore the relationship between music composition skills and employability among undergraduates at Lancaster University. The project will explore the relationship between composition skills, normally taught at music technology BA courses and skills, which are valued by employers in the creative industries. The project will investigate ways of enhancing specific and generic employability skills intrinsic to music technology composition teaching whilst working in close collaboration with industry partners and also Lancaster University graduates. It will run as a series of events with guest speakers and postgraduate students, allowing students the chance to discuss and analyse their coursework material with industry experts and receive advice about professional development possibilities in the field.
