Teachers urged to have their say in a major national study on online broadcast

Date: 11 March 2013

Teachers in classrooms across the UK areare urged to take part in a major study that will help shape the way electronic use of broadcast material is used to educate future generations. The study, for the Educational Recording Agency (ERA), which is responsible for licensing the use of broadcast material for educational purposes, is being carried out by the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University.

Professor Don Passey, Co-Director of Lancaster's Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning, part of University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), is leading the study.

The study's findings will be put before the Government and will be used to shape the future policy of audio-visual teaching in the nation's schools. The study is part of a major review to explore ways the ERA can support teachers more effectively in accessing and using audio-visual broadcast material - which is seen as an important way of engaging with young people in the classroom.

Teachers who want to contribute to the survey can do so by following the URL link.
