Invitation to Teach in ChinaDate: 1 April 2006 Garrath Williams, Lecturer in Philosophy, will be joining a distinguished line-up of tutors as part of the 2006 Philosophy Summer School in China. The three week session on the Philosophy of Immanuel Kant will be held at Renmin University of China in Beijing, and co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences' Institute of Philosophy. Forty Chinese students will participate in the summer school, from across the country, on a competitive entry basis. Previous IPPP participants in the Philosophy Summer Schools have included David Archard - who was Director of the 1994 Summer School, a Staff Member on the first Summer School in 1988, and a Staff Member of the 2000 Summer School, and who serves on the British Committee of the Summer School - and Mairi Levitt, who was a Staff Member on the 2005 Summer School on Bioethics. The Summer Schools are organised by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and an international Summer School committee that comprises distinguished philosophers from the United Kingdom, Australia and the United Kingdom.
