ESRC +3 CASE studentship AwardedDate: 19 August 2008 Interview's for the ESRC +3 CASE studentship: Beyond User-Centred Design: Innovation for Sustainability, took place at IDEO's offices in London on 24th July and congratulations go to Julien McHardy who was successful in his application This project represents a novel, three-way collaboration between Lancaster's Departments of Sociology and Imagination Lancaster (design) together with IDEO, a leading global design consultancy at the forefront of developing and applying user-centred design. The project has three main aims:
The research will involve a programme of observation and ethnographic style analysis of design projects and practices, active collaboration with designers in the UK and the USA, and the development of theories and concepts that bridge between design and social science.
