RLF Scheme to Help Students With Their Academic WritingDate: 6 October 2008 The writer John Murray is about to commence his second year as Royal Literary Fellow at Lancaster University, and is inviting all FASS students who want help with their academic writing to get in touch. Based in the English and Creative Writing department, last year John gave 135 one hour tutorials to some 79 students, PhDs and master students as well as undergraduates.
Sponsored by the Royal Literary Fund, John's brief is to help students in any department of the university who would like to improve their academic writing skills. This can be anything from the basics of grammar and punctuation, to the business of developing an argument or structuring an essay or a thesis.
If you think you would benefit from a confidential one to one tutorial, then please email John and book an appointment. He is in Lancaster for two days a week during term time, Mondays and Tuesdays only.
