Dynamics of Memories" Group wins Funding

Date: 3 November 2008

This is an interdisciplinary group based at Lancaster, which has already established links with scholars and grass-roots institutions in the UK, Austria, Ireland, France, Sweden, Spain, India, the USA and New Zealand. The Group has also attracted colleagues from Psychology and the Management School.

The Group has so far won grants of £2500 from the Institute of Advanced Studies' Incubation Fund, and €3000 from the European Science Foundation's Networking and Capacity Building Programme.

The Group seeks to investigate how cultural and historical memories express a struggle for power in the present. A seminar series, conferences and publications are in preparation, as are bids for additional funding.
