Person Impersonality and Verb Inflection workshop

Date: 12 November 2009

Anna Siewierska will be giving the keynote paper at this workshop, held on 12-13th of November at the University of helsinki. The workshop is organized by the project Regional Aspects of Finnish Syntax headed by Professor Maria Vilkuna. It aims to bring together specialists on syntactic theory and typology and of Baltic Finnic languages and dialects, such as, among others, Estonian, Karelian, Meänkieli and Kven (Finnish-based languages in Northern Sweden and Norway), as well as Finnish and potentially Sámi dialects, to discuss issues having to do with the grammar of Person. The title of my paper will be "Loss and reduction of person distinctions: a cross-linguistic perspective".
