CeDR awarded contract to review the health and care needs of people with learning disabilitiesDate: 23 March 2010
The Centre for Disability Research (CeDR) has been jointly commissioned with The North East Public Health Observatory (NEPHO) to improve the use and future collection of information on the health and well-being of people with learning disabilities in England as part of a three year investigation into the standards of health and social care for people with learning disabilities announced today by Care Services Minister Phil Hope. The contract award follow recommendations made by an independent inquiry headed by Sir Jonathan Michael into access to healthcare for people with learning disabilities. It forms part of Valuing People Now, a comprehensive strategy to help people with learning disabilities live independent lives.
