Introduction to Second Life for educators (demonstration & discussion)

At this meeting we will demonstrate Second Life and lead a discussion about its potential for educators. This is intended as an introductory meeting for those relatively new to the Second Life, or 3D virtual worlds in general.Feel free to drop in for any part of the meeting as you wish. The meeting will be presented in 3 parts:

  • Getting Started in Second Life - a demonstration of the basics. (12.00-12.30)
  • Some places of interest to educators (12.30 - 12.50pm)
  • Different ways to teach and learn in Second Life (12.50-1.30)

The meeting will be led by Julia Gillen (Literacy Research Centre) and Michele Ryan (Management, Learning & Leadership) in MR3, Institute for Advanced Studies building.
