Symposium 'Migrations - Interdisciplinary Perspectives'

As part of the IDee Dialog Forum, Ruth was asked to co-organise a Symposium on 'Migration - Interdisciplinary Perspectives'. Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences will discuss this complex phenomenon.

An interview with Professor Ruth Wodak (Linguistics) and Renee Schroeder,(Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Vienna) was broadcast on Wednesday 30 June by the Austrian Press Agency , about issues of interdisciplinarity and research on migration:
This prepares the ground for a conference on "Migrations: Interdisciplinary Perspectives", which starts today ( Thursday), at the University of Vienna co-organised by Professor Wodak, as part of the Interdisciplinary Dialog Forum "IDee" (July 1-3, 2010);

Dr Anne-Marie Fortier (Sociology) will be giving a plenary on Saturday; the panel on "Media Representations of Migrants" is co-organised by Dr. Michal Krzyzanowski (Linguistics and English Language), where he, PhD student Majid KhosraviNik and Professor Wodak will also be giving a paper.
