Professor John Holmwood of the Department of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Nottingham and the incoming President of the British Sociological Association (BSA) will give a public lecture on "Knowledge Regimes, Public Higher Education and the Future of Social Sciences".

He is the editor of A Manifesto for the Public University (Bloomsbury).
