Lancaster Award

The Lancaster Award is a new opportunity for you to gain official recognition for all the employability-enhancing activities you complete while at Lancaster University, for example work experience, volunteering, extracurricular courses, societies and sports.

Graduate Student Association

The Graduate Student Association is the representative body for all postgraduate students at Lancaster University. The GSA provides academic, social, sporting and welfare support.

External Events of Interest

  • North West Enterprise Schools 2012
    The North West Enterprise Schools aim to increase the employability of PhD students and research staff by improving their enterprise skills in a highly interactive, group working environment, tutored by experts and guest entrepreneurs. The Lancaster NWES will be held on 24-27 March 2012 at the Preston Marriott Hotel, followed by online collaboration and a final weekend residential on 5-6 May 2012.
  • Realities, University of Manchester
    Realities, which is part of the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods, aims to develop methods and approaches that capture the combination of vital, tangible and intangible dynamics in the way that personal relationships and relationalities are lived. They run a variety of workshops, and also produce web-based resources, such as working papers and toolkits.
  • ESRC National Centre for Research Methods (NRCM)
    The NCRM is a network of research groups, each conducting research and training in an area of social science research methods. It has a searchable database holding information on a wide range of opportunities within the Social Sciences across the UK with a focus on research methods.
  • Vitae Leadership in Action course, 6-9 March 2012
    This course allows researchers, postgraduate students and research staff to explore and develop their leadership skills. Participants have the opportunity to look at relevant theory, practise their unique leadership stylesand receive feedback.
