Ms Gina AylwardAssistant Practice Learning Co-ordinator Department: Applied Social Science Degree: BA [Hons] English Literature [1983] CQSW [1986] Certificate in Psychodynamic Approaches to Social Work [1990] Current TeachingSome input in the Preparation for Practice 1 course [ BA: ASSC 104] Career detailsSince 1986, I have practised Social Work in a variety of fieldwork and hospital/hospice settings. Two of the Qualified Social Work positions I applied for [and was successful in being offered the posts], I had no previous direct experience of working with the particular service user group/setting. I believe firmly that the Social Work BA and MA courses offer students the opportunity to develop transferable skills that can be utilised in the broad range of settings where social work is practised. I have been in my present post since August 2005. Associated Keywords: Applied Social Science, Practice Learning, Social work
