Workshop by guest speaker Dr Devyani Sharma (Queen Mary, London) 'Sociolinguistic fieldwork in an urban contact context'

We are delighted to announce that Dr Devyani Sharma(Queen Mary, University of London) will host a workshop called 'Sociolinguistic fieldwork in an urban contact context'. Topics will include: urban sociolinguistic data collection, analytic methods relatingto style, bilingualism, gender, network, class.
The workshop is open to all, but preregistration is required. To register, email Paul Kerswill (p.kerswill@lancaster.ac.uk).There is no registration fee, but we will have to limit the numbers to 20 as space is limited.
This event is organised by the research groups 'Language Variation & Linguistic Theory' and 'Language and Gender', and sponsored by the Department of Linguistics and English Language.
