Paul Kerswill speaks at the Lancashire Society's Dialect Day, and judges performances

Paul gave a lecture entitled "London's multicultural Cockney: the new voice of the nation?" to the annual Dialect Day meeting of the Lancashire Society in Chorley. Afterwards, he judged 25 dialect performances by people from the Lancashire, Lakeland, East Lincolnshire and Devon societies. Some 45 people attended.
