Date: 6 June 2011
Paul Kerswill's ESRC-funded research (with colleagues in London)on Multicultural London English was reported in the Daily Mail. The context was an ongoing dialogue between the media and linguists about whether dialects are disappearing or getting stronger. The linguists' consensus is that both are happening, but in different places and in different ways.
