Normannitas - Approaches to Understanding Norman Identities

Date: 18 December 2008 Time: 10.00am-5.00pm

This colloquium for invited participants is the first ofa projected six such events associated with the AHRC-funded project 'The Norman Edge: State-Building and Identity on the Frontiers of Europe'. The colloquium willexamine methodologies for investigating the main research questions of the project. Papers are being offered by Professors Dan Power (Swansea), Graham Loud (Leeds) and Marcus Bull (Bristol), and scholars and postgraduates from Cambridge, Oxford, Durham, St Andrews and York will also be attending. Such a diverse gathering of Norman scholars is unusual, and we are therefore delighted that Lancaster has the opportunity to host the colloquium and to disseminate this AHRC project more widely.
