  • The experience of such conflicts for civilian and military personnel involved.
  • The attempts to establish peace and stability in post-conflict environments.
  • The emergence of modern forms of tactics and technologies of warfare.
  • The development of military and civilian aviation.
  • The evolution of US foreign policy, especially since 1945.
  • Post-Cold War attempts to build a new international system.
  • The transportation and industrial landscapes of both banks of the river Mersey.
  • Family history, especially in relation to new technologies and recently available archives.
  • History of the Warburton and Dennett families in Lancashire and Cheshire.
