Visiting the History DepartmentWe offer you several ways of seeing the department, campus, and student life here for yourself.
Open Days for Current ApplicantsCurrent applicants are invited to come to one of the History Department’s Open Days. Open Days are primarily intended for applicants to whom we have already made an offer, but others are also welcome. They also are organised very differently to the above University Visit Days, offering an opportunity to sample the atmosphere of the campus, to meet current students and tutors, as well as to learn about the details of courses. We encourage all applicants to come but we strongly advise successful applicants (i.e., those to whom we have made an offer) to attend, even if they have already attended a University Visit Day. For more information on our Open Days for 2013 please click here. We still have space in our Open Days as shown below. If you would like to come and have not already reserved a place, please complete a booking form and either e-mail it to Christine Dundas or mail it to the address shown on the form. The Open Days run from 1.30 pm until about 4.30 pm, and the dates for applicants applying during 2012-2013 are:
A similar series of days will be held on roughly the same dates in 2014. Travel details for Open Days. For travel details for those of you who have booked to come to one of our upcoming Open Days, please view the campus map. Student helpers will be around campus, helping to direct visitors to their destinations. There will be minibuses transporting people from car parks to the Chaplaincy Centre, or you may choose to walk instead. History Tour Guides will be conducting visitors from the Chaplaincy Centre to Bowland (Main) College, where History Department representatives will be waiting to sign you in and conduct you to a lecture theatre for your presentation. On Wednesdays registration will be in the History Department on B Floor, Bowland College. On Saturdays it will be in The Trough of Bowland bar. We look forward to meeting you.

They run from 1pm to 4pm on the following dates:
