Medicine and Bioethics in the 'Theatre' of the Criminal Process

«Back

Summary: This book, co-authored with Professor Margaret Brazier (School of Law, University of Manchester), will provide an account of how the criminal courts came to and still do act as the 'theatre' in which so many ethical problems are aired and will consider the depiction of bioethics in real theatre. It will also include an analysis of whether bioethical principles 'fit' with criminal law principles and a number of case studies in which judges have grappled with bioethics. the publisher is Cambridge University Press. 'Bioethics in the Theatre of the Criminal Process' will be one of the publications emerging from the large scale AHRC funded project, 'The Impact of the Criminal Process on Health Care Ethics and Practice' (see 'My Projects' for further details).
