Tom WebbGraduate Teaching Assistant Degree: LL.B, AHEA Current TeachingPublic Law (Law 102) Law of Torts (Law 103r) Tom recently completed SEDA and HEA accredited training. Research InterestsTom's general research interests concern constitutional and public law theory, methodology and practice; and systems theories (particularly complexity and autopoiesis). Within his thesis Tom is investigating whether Complexity theory, a species of systems theory, can be utilised to improve understanding of theories concerning constitutionalism through Complexity's novel methodological approach. Tom's thesis focuses on the work of key scholars in public law, that are taken as representatives of the range of public law scholarship available. His main critique is that public law should look beyond the traditional intellectual borders of the discipline in order to improve its understanding of constitutionalism, and should therefore be willing to make use of novel notions and methodologies. He deploys his core authors as a vehicle to demonstrate the variable willingness of public lawyers to look beyond the traditional bounds of public law methodology and theory.
