Funding Opportunities (Law)
2013/14

Ph.D Studentships:

Faculty Research Scholarships (fees only)
The Faculty is offering a limited number of International fees-only scholarships for students wishing to undertake full-time PhD study. Awards will be made in the form of a fee waiver and recipients will need to meet their general living expenses themselves. PhD Awards will be made for three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
Applicants wishing to be considered for these awards should contact their prospective department for details of the application process. All applicants must already hold an offer of a place to study in any department in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and should be due to commence their studies between October 2013 and January 2014. Iredell Studentships
The Law School is offering a limited number of UK/EUl fees-only scholarships for students wishing to undertake full-time PhD study. Awards will be made in the form of a fee waiver and recipients will need to meet their general living expenses themselves. PhD Awards will be made for three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

ESRC Doctoral Training Centre Studentships in Security, Conflict and Justice
The Law School would welcome applications to the above ESRC studentship, further details with the terms and conditions can be found on (please link attached document here).
To apply for an award through the School, you must hold an offer of admission to the School of Law using the online application form: https://www.postgraduate.lancs.ac.uk/Pages/default.aspx

You will then need to complete the ESRC application form at:

Returning the completed ESRC application form with attached transcripts and references to Eileen Jones, the School’s PG Coordinator, by 4.00pm on 4th February 2013
Please note that there is only one closing date for applications each year and there is no flexibility beyond this date.   

Taught Course Studentships:

Faculty MA Scholarships (fees only)
A number of MA fees-only bursaries are available for International students wishing to study for a Masters degree within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Recipients will need to meet their general living expenses themselves.

LLM Programme (All degrees)
A limited number of ‘Law School, Fee Reduction Bursaries of £1,000’
Internal deadline: 1st June 2013

William Charnley Prize
This prize of a £1,000 is awarded to the best 3rd year student at Lancaster University, Law School who undertakes the study of an LLM degree.

Andrew Coddington Award
This prize of £1,000 is awarded to the best 3rd year student graduating from Lancaster University, Law School who undertakes the study of the LLM in International Business & Corporate Law programme.
