I studied as an undergraduate at the Eurasian National University in Kazakhstan, and wanted to undertake my legal studies in the UK. The choice of UK universities was very large and I wanted a university that would be the best for me regarding course, location and prestige. I was accepted to several universities and made the decision to go to Lancaster University. I had been awarded the international scholarship of the President of Republic of Kazahstan "Bolashak" and Lancaster University was in the suggested top universities listed for recipients of this scholarship.
The LLM courses at Lancaster are broad, relevant and provided me with a very good opportunity to study Human Rights, Humanitarian Law and Terrorism which was one of my special interest areas. The university's location in Northwest England gives you a good chance to travel around and visit some magnificent places and towns.
I am very pleased to be studying here and taking courses from such wonderful, qualified and friendly professors. The library is rich for materials, books, and databases. I'm also the President of the Kazakhstan Society at Lancaster and there are many international students here which creates a very friendly and understanding atmosphere.
After finishing Lancaster University I plan to return to Kazakhstan and put my knowledge into practice. I am pretty sure that the knowledge and experience I will have gained here will be more than useful in my home country. I am confident that I made a good choice in studying at Lancaster. That is why I strongly advise prospective students' to choose Lancaster University!
