LLB Law (International)

UCAS code: M101

seminar group

A small number of students are admitted each year onto this programme, which offers the opportunity to study law with a special international and comparative perspective. Like all Lancaster LLBs, it is a qualifying law degree providing full exemption from the academic stage of training for the Bar and the solicitor's profession in England & Wales. (If specified options are taken, it also provides exemption for NorthernIreland and the Isle of Man.)

All students on this programme follow the same programme of study in the first year, then take a combination of optional and compulsory courses in the second year, spend the third year at a partner university abroad, and take a mixture of options and compulsory courses back at Lancaster in the fourth year.

Third Year

This is spent abroad at one of our partner Universities in the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, or Norway. Students study the equivalent of four units of law courses choosing from a wide range of courses to suit their own interests and aptitudes. For the purpose of degree classification these four units count as one unit at Lancaster University.

For partners we seek universities, which have a high academic reputation, are experienced in dealing with visiting students and which offer a pleasant stay for our students.

Students are entitled to a European Union grant, as part of the Erasmus/Socrates exchange programme. Some exceptions apply. Please contact the International Office for further information.
