Law 301 - Environmental Law(Half Unit in 1st term) ConvenorMike Doupé This course will provide an introduction to the development of environmental law in the U.K. It will examine the manner in which that development has been influenced by political, economic and social factors. The status of environmental law as an academic subject will be considered, particularly its relationship with other areas of public and private law. The course will also examine and analyse the substantive civil and criminal laws relevant to the protection of land, air and the aqueous environment, with particular reference to the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the Water Resources Act 1991. It will also consider various issues relating to the practical implementation of environmental regulation and the limitations upon such implementation and enforcement.
