Law 320 - Principles of Employment Law

(half unit in 1st term)

THIS COURSE IS SUBJECT TO SENATE APPROVAL.

Course aims: To give an understanding of how the law regulates employment relationships within the context of the British industrial relations system. The syllabus may include, but not be limited to; The development of Employment Law; Sources and institutions of Employment Law; Employment Law and human rights; The Employment Relationship; The role of the 'contract of employment'; Formation of the relationship; Discipline and Termination of Employment; Statutory protection from dismissal; Redundancy; Unfair dismissal.

This course is available to final year students only.
