Law 327 - Jurisprudence

(Half Unit in 2nd term)

This course offers a foundation in Jurisprudence. It investigates such questions as "what is law?", "why is law obeyed?", "what are the relationships between law and power and authority?". In discussing these issues emphasis is not only on the answers provided by various thinkers, but also the social, political and cultural context in which they were framed.

Assessment

Assessment for 2nd Years: 1 x 1,500 Essay and 1 x 3,500 Essay
Assessment for 3rd Years: 1 x 5,000 word Essay
