Report on gender quotas on management boardsDate: 6 May 2012 Professor David Sugarman contributed to the Report on Gender Quotas on Management Boards commissioned by the European Parliament's Committee on Gender Equality and published by the European Parliament in March 2012. The Report reviews the evidence on the effectiveness of legally imposed as compared with voluntary regimes in narrowing the gender gap on corporate management boards. It finds that mandatory legal instruments to enforce quotas are the most effective and fastest means of increasing the proportion of women on corporate boards. The Report is posted on the European Parliament web-site: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/fr/studies.html#studies
