Lancaster Lawyer Highlights the Inadequacies of Proscribing Organisations in The GuardianDate: 12 January 2010 Dr Fergal Davis, a civil liberties specialist at Lancaster University Law School, has questioned the decision of the Home Secretary to "proscribe al-Muhajiroun, Islam4UK and a number of the other names the organisation goes by". Dr Davis argues that proscription is an outdated tool more suited to structured organisations than to networks and affiliates who are willing to frequently change their group name.
