There will be between five or six generic research training sessions followed by subject specific seminars and tutorials.

- Assessment: 100% coursework (Research Plan/Project Plan/Essay)
Aims and Outcomes
This module aims to:
- provide students with an understanding of the different approaches to research
- provide students with training in the design of research questions
- develop students' understanding of the methods and skills needed to carry out their research
- develop students' skills in research project planning, design and management
- enable students to understand the ethical issues relevant to their research project
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Clearly identify their research questions
- Select an appropriate approach for their research
- Select relevant research methods needed to complete their research project
- Demonstrate skills in research planning, design and management of their research project
- Identify the ethical issues that need to be addressed in their research project
