  • To develop a conscious and considered awareness of the creative process of practical research, prototyping, exploration, presentation, feedback, remaking and public viewing
  • To hone and develop skills in a specific area of individual art practice, alongside an awareness of other aproaches from cognate artforms and areas of practice
  • To develop skills of self-reflexivity within the making process
  • To develop presentation skills in describing process and practice coherently for an audience of peers and professionals, and to set the work in the context of critical thinking and other relevant practitioners

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:

  • Undertake a professional art-making process with a level of confidence and self-relexivity
  • Demonstrate a critical undertanding of the various stages of the art-making process as it relates to their own field of practice
  • Explain and elucidate on their research and development process for peers and professionals
  • Demonstrate the development of clear practical and conceptual skills in their chosen artform pathway
  • Apply processes and research methods from other artforms and areas of practice to their own working methods
